The scenographer Philippe Maffre (MAW) chose to use large suspended banners to structure the itinerary of the exhibition at the National Library of France. These banners displayed the sixteen stages of the Arthurian legend, and also created an atmosphere that was conducive to storytelling.
To create an immersive experience, we chose to work together on a color scheme that progressed from shade to light in a midnight blue palette. The visitor crossed a forest printed on large kakemonos, in which the iconic characters of the legend were concealed. A mascot appeared on some of the banners to signal content created specifically for children.
